Order

In terms of Section 14(1) of the NCTE Act, 1993 Salesian College of Teacher Education, Dimapur, Nagaland had submitted an application to the Easter Regional Committee of NCTE for grant of recognition for starting B. Ed. Course of One year duration from the academic session 2003-2004 (commencing in February 2003) with an annual intake of 100 (One Hundred) students.

2. On scrutiny of the application submitted by the institution, the documents attached therewith and the input received from the visiting team, the Committee has noted the following:

  1. The institution has acquired the land for setting up the teacher education institution.
  2. The institution has created an Endowment Fund of Rs.5.00 lakhs and Reserve Fund of Rs.2.00 lakhs.
  3. The institution has selected the Principal and 08 teachers duly approved by the affiliating University for the said course.

3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested under Section 14(3) (a) of the NCTE Act, 1993, the Eastern Regional Committee hereby grants recognition to Salesian College of Teacher Education, Dimapur, Nagaland for B. Ed. Course of One year duration from the academic session 2003-2004 (commencing in Feb. 2003) with an annual intake of 100 (One Hundred) students, subject to fulfillment of the following:

  1. That the institution will ensue that 07 faculty members duly approved by the affiliating University are in position for an intake of 100 students before commencement of the course and a report to this effect shall be sent to the ERC within one month of commencement of the course.
  2. The instution shall, within one month of the receipt of recognition order, convert the endowment fund account into a joint account to be operated along with an official of the Regional Committee.
  3. The institution shall shift to its own premises within three years from the date of recognition.
  4. The institution shall comply with the various other norms and standards prescribed in the NCTE regulations.

4. Further, the recognition is subject to fulfillment of all such other requirements as may be prescribed by other regulatory bodies like UGC and the State Govt. etc.

5. The institution shall submit to the Regional Committee a Self-Appraisal Report at the end of each academic year along with a copy of the approval of the University to the appointment of faculty members, and the statement of annual accounts duly audited by a Chartered Accountant.

6. If the institution contravenes any of the above conditions or any of the provisions of the NCTE Act, Rules, Regulations and Orders made or issued thereunder, the Regional Committee may withdraw the recognition under the provisions of Section 17(1) of the NCTE Act.
